Senior cricket coaching in Pune is rare at professional depth. Most academies focus on younger age groups; adult players are often left to self-coach or join general fitness programs that don't address the technical demands of competitive cricket. PKPF's Senior batch exists specifically for cricketers aged 18-25 who are playing or targeting senior league cricket, corporate tournaments, state trials, or simply want to push their game to the level they know it can reach.

What Senior Batch Training Covers
Senior sessions are three hours long and structured around professional cricket training principles. Intensity is higher than Sub-Junior batches; so is the expectation of self-discipline in terms of fitness maintenance and showing up consistently.
- Professional batting technique: batting against different bowling styles, leaving well, driving on demand, playing spin and pace with structured footwork — not just net hitting
- Power hitting mechanics: muscle activation patterns for six-hitting, T20 batting templates, shot selection under pressure — applicable for both limited-overs and four-day formats
- Fast bowling development: PKPF's pace bowling program draws directly from Coach Prasad's time at the MRF Pace Foundation — the same methods Dennis Lillee used to develop bowlers are adapted for our Senior batch
- Fitness and conditioning: sprint intervals, mobility, rotational power — built into sessions, not separate
- Mental game preparation: concentration techniques, handling pressure overs, decision-making at the crease — areas often neglected in purely technical coaching
- League and tournament readiness: match simulations, formats, and tactical discussions calibrated to the Pune cricket league structure
A Coach Who Has Been There
Senior players benefit most from a coach who has played competitive cricket at a high level and understands what separates good club players from state-level cricketers. Coach Prasad Kanade played Ranji Trophy, Deodhar Trophy, and Wills Trophy for Maharashtra as a right-arm medium-fast bowler. His understanding of competitive match pressure isn't theoretical — it's based on seasons of first-class cricket.
His three years as a Role Model at MRF Pace Foundation under Dennis Lillee gave him access to the most systematic pace bowling development program in India. That knowledge is directly applied to PKPF's Senior and personal coaching programs.
- 25+ years of professional cricket coaching
- MRF Pace Foundation Role Model — 3 consecutive years under Dennis Lillee
- Ex U17 & U19 Maharashtra State Team Coach
- Bowling Coach for U14 Maharashtra State Team
- Played Ranji / Deodhar / Wills Trophy for Maharashtra
Who Joins the Senior Batch
Senior students at PKPF come from a range of backgrounds, all sharing one thing: they take their cricket seriously.
- College players targeting inter-college tournaments and wanting technical improvement between seasons
- Corporate league cricketers who want to maintain form and fitness year-round
- Late-blooming competitive players who have self-coached to a certain level and need structured expert coaching to break through
- Players returning after injury who need to rebuild mechanics under supervised coaching
Morning and Evening Batches
Senior batches run Tuesday to Saturday, morning 7–9 AM and evening 4–6 PM; Sunday morning 7–9 AM is also available. Monday is a rest day. Both slots suit different schedules — the morning batch is popular with students and those with afternoon work commitments; the evening batch suits working professionals. Students travel from Kothrud, Deccan, Sinhagad Road, Baner, Aundh, and across Pune for both slots.
How to Start
The Senior program also starts with a free trial session: 45 minutes with Coach Prasad who assesses your current level and maps the areas of focused development. No payment or commitment is needed for the trial. WhatsApp 091454 95858 with your age and what you play (batting/bowling/all-round) and we'll confirm the next available batch slot.
For Players Beyond 25
If you're older than 25 and want to continue playing competitive cricket, our personal coaching program may be the better fit — flexible scheduling, one-on-one sessions, and a training focus tailored entirely to your current role in your team.
